Hey Help Update #8 | 22nd July 2025

By 22 July 2025No Comments

🚀 What’s New in This Update

Here’s a quick roundup of the latest updates and improvements:

Google verification process: The technical side of our Google verification is now complete! We’re currently awaiting the final Letter of Authorization (LOA) before wrapping up the full approval process.

Smarter tagging logic: We’ve refined how Hey Help applies AI tags, so it focuses only where it matters:

  • Now only tags emails in your INBOX and SENT folders

  • No more tagging Drafts

  • No more tagging emails that skip the inbox via Gmail filters

This means more relevant tagging, and more optimized usage.

Smoother Onboarding for API Keys:  We now show a clearer error message if your OpenAI or Anthropic key is missing a payment method or credits (plus a Help Center article to walk you through the fix).

Your Gmail labels, now visible on your email list: Previously, Hey Help hid your existing Gmail labels in your list of emails. We’ve changed that so your existing labels are not affected.

↳ New on the Blog: Why we made Hey Help fully BYOK. We just dropped a new post on why Hey Help uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) approach, and how it benefits users (not just the tech folks).

🎥 Video Update:

🤔 What is Hey Help again?

Hey Help is an AI Assistant for Gmail that takes care of the inbox admin stuff: sorting emails, drafting replies, clearing clutter, chasing replies, and so on.
